All About R.L. Stine

All About R.L. Stine
By: Elise
Robert Lawrence Stine was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1943. He wasn't very good in school. He wasn't good at math and he hated gym. When he was young people didn't call him R.L they called him Bob/Bobby. One day Bob found a typewriter in the attic. It changed his life. After he found it he ran straight to his room and started typing small novels and joke books. His mother begged him to go outside but he didn't want to. He said it was boring outside and wanted to stay inside and type stories. Bob would lock himself in his room and type many stories. After he graduated from Ohio State University he went to New York to be a writer. He got married and his wife helped him publish what he wrote. In 1986 he wrote his FIRST teen horror novel called BLIND DATE. It became an instant best seller. In 1989 he created the FEAR STREET SERIES. It is the best selling young adult series in history. In 1992 he started the series Goosebumps. It quickly became a hit around the world and was translated in to 32 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! Goosebumps was made into a famous tv show in the US. Ever since he started writing R.L. Stine has been busier then ever! Writing brand new series and lots more! For all of you R.L. Stine fans out there that really like his books and want your parents to experience reading them tell them to read these books R.L. Stine wrote for parents:

Nice work on this RL Stine piece, Elise. You've got a lot of information, and it's very interesting information as well. And to think, it all began with a typewriter.

I'm not sure if he was the one who created the show. I just know that he was the inspiration for the show. You know with his stories about living dummies and all that kind of stuff.
